In Reading we will be using the Houghton Mifflin Reading series.
It is divided into six themes-Off to Adventure,Celebrating Traditions, Incredible Stories, Animal Habitats, Voyagers, and Smart Solutions
Students will be required to read five Accelerated Reader books per quarter.
Students will also be allowed to take AR tests on read aloud books used in class.
Some of the books we will be reading in class are- "Ramona Quimby Age 8", "Beezus and Ramona", "Ramona the Great", "Stuart Little", "The Mouse and the Motorcycle", "Frindle", "The BFG", and "Tales of a Fourth Grade Nothing"
The class will study new vocabulary words each week related to the story in our anthology. The words will be given on Mondays and the quizzes will be on Fridays.
